Project Description

The main components used in this project are microcontroller, LCD, power supply, touch sensor, switch pad and GSM modem. The aim of this project is to provide security over bank lockers of the user. In this project we designed a locker for the user which has various security features like touch sensor, alert using SMS. Every user has personal password given to access the locker. A switch pad is connected to enter the password. If some other one tries to access the locker with wrong password then an alert will be send to the user mobile through SMS and in case someone does something with the locker then a touch sensor will be activated then audible alert will be activated through buzzer and also the message will be send to the user using GSM modem. GSM modem not directly interfaced with controller a line driver is used to which convert the RS232’s to TTL voltage levels that will be acceptable to microcontroller.

    Embedded System using 8051 Microcontroller

Embedded system is basically a combination of hardware with software. Embedded system basically is a computer system that is designed to pull off a few or one specific function, more often than not in real-time computing constraints. An embedded system is called an embedded system because it is embedded in or is a part of much complex and complete device that comprises hardware, moveable and mechanical parts. They are basically microcontroller to work with ‘applications as a resulted output. A microcontroller is a device with its own memory (RAM, ROM) and many more features added to it such as UART, Interupts and Timer etc, which make it superior to the microprocessors.

Advance version of combo of two most vetern embedded systems i.e. PIC and 8051 together. They both have various advantages. The PIC is a very general purpose microcontroller with ADC, counter, Built in oscillator with selectable speeds Wide range of interfaces including SPI, USB, USART, AD, programmable comparators, PWM has been used with the advantages of the 8-bit 8051 microcontroller

    Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI)

This is a process of stemming or creating integrated circuits by combing several thousands of transistors together on a single chip. VLSI stands for very large scale integration which in short has a purpose of integrating several numbers of semiconductors on a single chip. There are various VLSI technologies used as 45nm, 65nm. They have been named so depending on the length of the gate used in the transistors. A microprocessor is also a VLSI device. Structured VLSI design is a modular methodology originated just with an aim of saving microchip area by minimizing the interconnection area.
