A VLSI design & its hardware implementation to Make A Home Security System by Digital Sensors(Fire, Metal, Intruder, Touch etc) Interface with CPLD Chips.
In this projects we will be using Altera Corporation MAX II EPM240T100C5 CPLD. The MAX II EPM240T100C5 is non-volatile CPLD with densities from 240 logic elements (LEs) and non-volatile storage of 8 Kbits. The project (Home Security System) includes the modules CPLD unit, Regulated Power Supply, Buzzer, Power Failure sensor, Fire sensor, IR reflector sensor & Touch Sensor. In this project a CPLD unit is a main controlling unit which continuously monitors the sensors interfaced to it. This sensor continuously checked the home, when any of the sensors will detects the action it will give a signal to CPLD. In response to this signal, CPLD will alert with the help of buzzer.

Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI)
This is a process of stemming or creating integrated circuits by combing several thousands of transistors together on a single chip. VLSI stands for very large scale integration which in short has a purpose of integrating several numbers of semiconductors on a single chip. There are various VLSI technologies used as 45nm, 65nm. They have been named so depending on the length of the gate used in the transistors. A microprocessor is also a VLSI device. Structured VLSI design is a modular methodology originated just with an aim of saving microchip area by minimizing the interconnection area.
