Project Description

The Accelerometer guitar is a virtual air rock band. Air playing refers to the act of flailing ones arms in the air pretending to play a specific instrument, while not actually holding it and producing specific sounds. It is developed by using accelerometer, 8052 Microcontroller and MATLAB for GUI, a user is can play essentially all instruments of an entire rock band. It has the provision to switch between 2 modes of play i.e. Loop Mode, where users can browse through and play pre-selected loops (music) while altering their sonic qualities, and Instrument Mode where you can play an acoustic instrument live strumming a guitar or hitting a snare drum. Each instruments motion is measured using the MATLAB. The Virtual Air Guitar is a new way of experiencing music for beginners. It is an instrument literally played in the air: no strings, no keys, just you, free to perform. Playing air guitar is just like playing rock guitar, only without the guitar or any musical skills. Guitar does not merely respond - you are actually playing it. Its a new way of experiencing music.

    Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI)

This is a process of stemming or creating integrated circuits by combing several thousands of transistors together on a single chip. VLSI stands for very large scale integration which in short has a purpose of integrating several numbers of semiconductors on a single chip. There are various VLSI technologies used as 45nm, 65nm. They have been named so depending on the length of the gate used in the transistors. A microprocessor is also a VLSI device. Structured VLSI design is a modular methodology originated just with an aim of saving microchip area by minimizing the interconnection area.
