Project Description

This project provides an automatic billing control system for the power consumption at homes, office etc. To accomplish this, a microcontroller named AT89S52 is used to count the pulses from the transistor, to display message and number of units on LCD, and to trip the relay. The concept of smart energy meter which will automatically sense the energy consumed in the home and when the balance becomes zero it will disconnect the power line. The balance will be deducted according to the consumption of the units. If user consumes one unit power then it will deduct only one unit cost from the balance. The system can only allow the user to consume power if there is available balance otherwise it automatically cut off the power. The power will be automatically ON if the recharge has been done. The recharging can be done through the recharge coupon code through SMS or from the other meter having a balance through authorized mobile phone.

    Embedded System using 8051 Microcontroller

Embedded system is basically a combination of hardware with software. Embedded system basically is a computer system that is designed to pull off a few or one specific function, more often than not in real-time computing constraints. An embedded system is called an embedded system because it is embedded in or is a part of much complex and complete device that comprises hardware, moveable and mechanical parts. They are basically microcontroller to work with ‘applications as a resulted output. A microcontroller is a device with its own memory (RAM, ROM) and many more features added to it such as UART, Interupts and Timer etc, which make it superior to the microprocessors.

Advance version of combo of two most vetern embedded systems i.e. PIC and 8051 together. They both have various advantages. The PIC is a very general purpose microcontroller with ADC, counter, Built in oscillator with selectable speeds Wide range of interfaces including SPI, USB, USART, AD, programmable comparators, PWM has been used with the advantages of the 8-bit 8051 microcontroller

    Industrial Automation

The word “Industrial automation” implies automatically working organizations, which make use programmable logic controllers (PLC). Process control is a branched statistics and engineering discipline that deals with various controlling methods of output for a specific industrial automated process (architecture, controlling). It was a replacement invented the systems that required numbers of timers; relays etc and increase the cost also. PLCs are a combine package of multiple inputs and outputs, operating under various temperature ranges, even have immunity to noise. As the enhancements made year and year over, sequential relay control, motion control, process control, distributed control systems and networking are included into PLC. The main difference from other computers is that PLCs operate in industrial environments and have multiple (I/O) terminals; those connect the PLC to sensors and actuators. PLCs measure, continuously varied analog input process variables (P, T), and outputs t
