Project Description

This project is designed to control home appliances automatically for energy saving purpose. It is a great application of the PLC in daily life. As in daily routine we normally forget or dont care to switch off the electrical devices at our homes or offices i.e. fans, tubes, bulbs etc when we leave the room. Every device has particular power ratings according to which it consumes electricity, and the working of these devices without any use will lead to wastage of power and ultimately leads to the high electricity bills. This project can be used to avoid this problem. In this project every room will be monitored by a PLC, which will keep the record of the number of persons in every room and when it finds the no of persons in a room to be zero then it automatically cut the power line for that room. We can also make use of SCADA, which will display the status of every room.

    Industrial Automation

The word “Industrial automation” implies automatically working organizations, which make use programmable logic controllers (PLC). Process control is a branched statistics and engineering discipline that deals with various controlling methods of output for a specific industrial automated process (architecture, controlling). It was a replacement invented the systems that required numbers of timers; relays etc and increase the cost also. PLCs are a combine package of multiple inputs and outputs, operating under various temperature ranges, even have immunity to noise. As the enhancements made year and year over, sequential relay control, motion control, process control, distributed control systems and networking are included into PLC. The main difference from other computers is that PLCs operate in industrial environments and have multiple (I/O) terminals; those connect the PLC to sensors and actuators. PLCs measure, continuously varied analog input process variables (P, T), and outputs t

Various enhancements had been made in the field of SCADA as from 1st generation to 4TH i.e. Monolithic, Distributed, Networked, and Internet of Things.
