Project Description

In this project a system is designed to control the speed of the motor using PWM according to the input decided by the user through switch pad. The operation of the system can be summarized as the drive form rectified voltage, it consists of motor driven by a PWM signal generated from a CPLD. The motor voltage control is achieved by measuring the rectified mains voltage with the analog to digital converter present other CPLD and adjusting the PWM signal duty cycle accordingly. The main aim of this project is to control the dc motor speed variable and fixed which has high precision, reliability and adaptability for different motor ratings with good speed response. The switches are used to change the speed of the motor and seven segments is used to display the speed of the motor.

The word “Industrial automation” implies automatically working organizations, which make use programmable logic controllers (PLC). Process control is a branched statistics and engineering discipline that deals with various controlling methods of output for a specific industrial automated process (architecture, controlling). It was a replacement invented the systems that required numbers of timers; relays etc and increase the cost also. PLCs are a combine package of multiple inputs and outputs, operating under various temperature ranges, even have immunity to noise. As the enhancements made year and year over, sequential relay control, motion control, process control, distributed control systems and networking are included into PLC. The main difference from other computers is that PLCs operate in industrial environments and have multiple (I/O) terminals; those connect the PLC to sensors and actuators. PLCs measure, continuously varied analog input process variables (P, T), and outputs t
