Project Description

This project is based on the designing of the Face recognition system using CLBP technique. It is implemented using the MATLAB software. Face recognition systems are becoming increasingly popular in biometric authentication as they are non-intrusive and do not really require the users’ cooperation. Face recognition systems are used for identifying or verifying a person from a digital image or a video frame from a video source. The applications of automated face recognition are numerous from biometric authentication; surveillance to video database indexing and searching. In this project the CLBP technique is used for the face recognition. LBP is the technique in which the image is converted into the linear binary pattern on the basis of which the dataset is made. It is considered as the powerful feature of the texture extraction. In this project the data set of the images is taken and then each image is converted into the linear binary patterns (LBP) and some of its features are extracted that are further used for the matching with the image of the other data set, after this the testing of the images is done for which a new image dataset set is taken and the images are matched. The matching of the images are done on the basis of the feature that were selected earlier using LBP technique .Finally the image with minimum difference is selected, in this way the face recognition system is designed . This is an automated security system that is implemented using MATLAB software. In this LBP technique is used for recognition of the faces from the data set of the images .This system will help to authenticate the person’s identity that is used for biometric identification providing a secure and reliable system
