Image enhancement is among the simplest and most appealing areas of digital image processing. Image enhancement is basically done to improve the quality of the image by improving the certain feature like brightness, color etc of the image. The image enhancement is done to process a given image so that the result is more suitable than the original image for a specific application. Many image enhancement techniques are used to enhance the image. The enhancement doesn't increase the inherent information content of the data, but it increases the dynamic range of the chosen features so that they can be detected easily. In this project a new technique of the image enhancement is used for improving the quality of the image .BBHE technique is used for enhancing the quality of the image. In this basically a histogram of the image is calculated. it is the efficient technique as it can preserve the original brightness of the image to the great extent . One of the benefits of this technique is simplicity of implementation of algorithm. Histogram based technique for image enhancement is normally based on equalizing the Histogram of image and increases the dynamic Increases the dynamic range corresponding to the image. The BBHE utilizes independent histogram equalization over two sub images obtained by decomposing the input image based on its mean . This is a MATLAB based project that is used for enhancing the image using the BBHE technique. The BBHE is to preserve the mean brightness of image while enhancing the contrast of a given image. this is most efficient technique for enhancing the image .
