This is M.tech based project that is based on the removing the shadow from the image in order to enhance the quality of the image by applying the thresholding approach. When a image is taken in the environment where the quality of the light is poor , or where the light is present on the excess a shadow is formed which leads to in poor quality image . So to get the desired image the shadow is to be removed .Shadow removal is the technique of the image processing that is used for the correction of the image that is affected by the exposure. Exposure can decrease the quality of the image and can make it dull. Many techniques of removing the shadow from the image are proposed. In this project a thresholding approach is used for removing the shadow from the image. a threshold value is set and according to it the comparison is made in the image . This threshold value will decide which part of the image needs to be enhanced. A that particular portion is where the shadow is present and that portion is removed. It is quite efficient approach for removing the shadow as two set of values are obtained one having values less than threshold and other set having values greater than the threshold . A MATLAB based project for improving the image quality by removing the shadow .A thrsholdibng based approach is implemented in this project for the removing of shadow from the image. This is an efficient technique that is used in magazine covers, digital media, and photos for increasing the quality of the image.
